Harbour Island

Harbour Island, affectionately referred to as "Briland" by residents, is located on the north east coast of Eleuthera in The Bahamas which is off the south east coast of Florida.  This "World famous and world class" island is known for its breathtaking three-mile long pink sand beach that runs the entire length of the island on its eastern side.  Harbour Island is a vacation attraction for the rich and famous, savvy travelers and beach vacation seekers.

Dunmore Town

Dunmore Town, on Harbour Island was the first capital of The Bahamas and is one of the oldest settlements in The Bahamas being founded over 300 years ago by Loyalists fleeing the American Revolution.  Known for its picturesque buildings with old colonial architecture and charm dating back to the later 1700's and new exclusive and modern resorts, Dunmore Town offers something for everyone.

There is a fine selection of vacation rentals ranging from cottages, villas, resorts, townhouses and apartments and numerous "native" and gourmet restaurants to please every pallette.  Several marinas also offer full service restaurants and accommodations.  In the evenings, there is music and dancing at most resorts or you can go to the local night club.

Dunmore Town is on the bay, where the sun sets with great drama, but from there it is only a 3-5 minute golf cart drive to the famous pink sands on the ocean side, where soul-stirring sunrises kick off another day in paradise.  Water sports are plentiful for adventure vacationers who want to fish, snorkel, water-ski, scuba dive and of course, sun-bathe on the spectacular three mile beach.  Harbour Island can be toured by golf carts (preferred mode of transportation), bicycle, horseback, boat, plane or a slow stroll up and down its narrow streets.  Water taxi provides transportation (3-4 minute ride) to North Eleuthera for those who wish to spend a few hours or a full day exploring its panoramic landscape and wonderments such as "The Cave", an underground passage which leads one mile to the sea, the "Glass Window" Bridge, where you can see both the Altantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.

Harbour Island is serviced daily by boat, the Fast Ferry out of Nassau and many daily domestic and international flights through North Eleuthera's airport on the mainland.
